Harvest Church | Tokyo

Our 3-Step Plan

We are focusing on meeting many people in order to broadly share the gospel, and to go deeper in conversation with as many as we can, introducing seekers to community groups whenever possible:

Through neighborhood connections:

  • Patronizing small, local shops

  • Volunteer work in the community

Through ministry activities that create space for friendships to grow & meet local people’s needs:

  • English classes

  • Parenting events

  • Relationship seminars

  • Mama/toddler play time

Through creating places to develop relationships and have meaningful discussions about life & spiritual truths:

  • Alpha

  • The Marriage Course

  • Parenting groups

  • Seekers’ studies

  • Summer camp

Through building on our experience using cell group and missional community teachings to form Community Groups, we are forming groups that are designed for:

  • Growing deeper together with Jesus

  • Ministering together – doing outreach and welcoming new people into the church community

  • Identifying & developing leaders

“You may wonder if a missional community is just another way to refer to a small group or Bible study. It’s really not. A missional community is a group of people following Jesus together with a commitment to sacrificial service, authentic relationships, and spiritual transformation.”

— Dave DaVries in The Missional Journey by Robert E. Logan
